Maryam Ashraf
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Therapist (LCSW #118838). I completed my Bachelor of Social Work at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada and completed my Master of Social Work at York University in Toronto.
I have clinical counseling experience working with diverse populations through my work in community mental health and non-profit organizations. Currently I work at a Mental Health and Addiction treatment center as a primary therapist providing individual, group and family therapy to clients struggling with dual diagnosis concerns.
Providing a safe, compassionate and nonjudgmental space for the therapeutic relationship to thrive is the foundation of my approach. I am devoted to empowering others to find the confidence, healing, and joy they deserve through recovery. I use an integrative approach drawing from CBT, DBT, Attachment Science and somatic approaches. I am drawn to trauma-informed modalities that holistically treat the body and mind. I consider it an honor to hold space for my clients and will walk alongside you in your healing and recovery journey.
I practice at Addiction Therapy Newport Beach and I am supervised under Ipek Aykol (LMFT#97315).
